This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Mormons Church who has been blamed for the passing of Prop 8, has a calender called “Men on a Mission calendar”, featuring twelve sexy returned Mormon missionaries posing shirtless. IOW, It’s like a Playboy magazine for women or something like GT or Butt for gays.
The calender apparently has been created to encourage religious and cultural tolerance, plus to support charities around the world, or as they described it: “a tongue-in-cheek celebration of the selfless servitude of missionaries.”
After refusing to stop the production of the calendar, it’s creator Chad Hardy, was excommunicated in a formal church court in July for “conduct unbecoming a member of the church.”
He then defended himself by saying : “Men on a Mission is more than just a calendar - it’s a movement to offer a hand of friendship to bridge gaps between religious and cultural differences, beliefs and lifestyles. Even though the church doesn’t like it, thousands of people have been inspired by the calendar and we have helped others through our charitable contributions.”
Being excommunicated didn’t stop Hardy from producing another calendar and they did the photo shoot for the latest edition this week in Vegas.
Playboy got into a sacred territory by publishing a portrayal of Virgin.
Not an ordinary virgin, but a Virgin Mary on its December issue of the Mexican edition.
It was released on Thursday, just in time for Mexico’s traditional Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe. On Friday Mexicans celebrated an apparition of the Virgin in the town.
The cover features Argentinian model Maria Florencia Onori posing as the Virgin wearing nothing but an angelic white cloth. Its headline reads in Spanish: “We adore you, Mary.” Inside the magazine the model gets half naked surrounded by candles, lilies and stained glass windows.“You are blessed, Mary, when light reaches your skin and your eyes are upon the eyes of our readers,” adds the magazine.
It created so much controversy among the Mexican Catholics who find the cover disrespectful for their faith. Mexico is said to be one of the strongholds of the Catholic faith.
The President of the Catholic League has said: “Playboy’s juxtaposition of the sacred with the profane is a game that many have played, but to exploit Catholicism and insult Latinos in the same breath is novel. The December cover of its Mexican edition demonstrates once again that when it comes to good taste, Playboy remains quintessentially virginal.”
Playboy has apologized and said that the company did not approve or endorse the cover. Raul Sayrols, publisher of Playboy Mexico released the following statement: “While Playboy Mexico never meant for the cover or images to offend anyone, we recognize that it has created offense, and we as well as Playboy Mexico offer our sincerest apologies. The image is not and never was intended to portray the Virgin of Guadalupe or any other religious figure. The intent was to reflect a Renaissance-like mood on the cover.”

Michael Jackson has been claimed to have officially become a Muslim, and changed his name to Mikaeel.
