chejapanpremiereo3mi39_gvvyl Benicio del Toro In Japan Premiere Of Che movie

When I was younger I was fascinated by Che Guevara’s image and the idea behind him: a rebel, a freedom fighter, a revolutionist and a liberator.
I’m not so impressed anymore. It took me years of studying sociology at school, watching the movies about him, reading books on him, and in one word opening a new gate to his reality that made me say fuck it. He now is so blurred behind the bullshit of history that doesn’t even worth investigating, let alone idolizing. It’d better remain a history and be read like a novel and not sorta manifestation.

Anyhow, Steven Soderbergh’s new movie which is being premiered all around the world these days, is said by his director to be a sympathetic portrayal of Che, telling the story from Che’s perspective. Thus, it can be regarded as a complete fiction than a fuggy history.

The movie is in Spanish and Benicio del Toro is playing in it.
Here are Del Toro and Steven Soderbergh at the Japan Premiere of the movie, last night in Tokyo.

palinbear Sarah Palin Is Sorry For A Church Damage sarah-palin

Friday night, Sarah Palin’s home church faced an estimated of $1 million damage by arson, and while a few people were in there, no one was injured.
After the accident Palin made an statement and apologized if the fire was connected to “undeserved negative attention” the church received during her Republican vice-presidential candidacy.

The blaze case and Palin’s connection to the church is now under investigations.

She also has topped Google’s 2008 chart of the most web searches, according to the latest statics reported by The Telegraph. The followings come next:

2. Beijing Olympics 2008
3. “Facebook login” and “Tuenti,” (a Spanish social networking website)

tina1 Quote Of The Day: Tine Fey: The Jokes Were Aggressive sarah-palin

“I never did feel that we were mean to her. We stuck to a lot of things that she herself had said, and I think there is a very strange double standard because it’s a woman portraying another woman . . . The jokes we used to do about George W. Bush were that he was an idiot. The jokes were aggressive. No one would ever stop and say, ‘Oh, that seems kind of mean.’ ” Tina Fey tells Barbara Walters on “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2008,” on her impersonation of Sarah Palin on SNL.

seanpenn Sean Penn Defends Chavez And Asks Castro To Meet With Obama obama

In his latest socialist attempt, Sean Penn teams up with his BFFHugo Chavez and asks the Cuban president Raul Castro to meet with President-elect Barack Obama, encouraging a normalization of relations between the US and Cuba.
In his long essay posted on The Nation, he constantly refers to Chavez as “Mr.President” and tries to clear the image of him, described by Vice President-elect Joe Biden as “Venezuelan dictator”:
“Hugo Chávez Frías is the democratically elected president of Venezuela (and by democratically elected I mean that he has repeatedly stood before the voters in internationally sanctioned elections and won large majorities, in a system that, despite flaws and irregularities, has allowed his opponents to defeat him and win office, both in a countrywide referendum last year and in regional elections in November). And Biden’s words were the kind of rhetoric that had recently led us into a life-losing and monetarily costly war, which, while toppling a shmuck in Iraq, had also toppled the most dynamic principles upon which the United States was founded, enhanced recruitment for Al Qaeda and deconstructed the US military.”

For the finishing lines of his article, he remembers the music and movies that flashed back in his head at the moment of Obama’s victory speech:
“I sat on the edge of my bed with my wife, son and daughter, tears streaming down my face, as Barack Obama spoke for the first time as the president-elect of the United States of America. I closed my eyes and started to see a film in my head. I could hear the music too, appropriately the Dixie Chicks covering a Fleetwood Mac song over slow-motion images in montage. There they were: Bush, Hannity, Cheney, McCain, Limbaugh and Robertson. I saw them all. And the song was rising as the image of Sarah Palin took over the screen. Natalie Maines sweetly sang,
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
till the landslide brought me down.
Landslide brought me down… “

Cuban President said that any meeting with Obama have to be on “neutral ground.”

guns Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy Gets Bad Reviews In China music

Guns N’ Roses‘ new album Chinese Democracy was released over the weekend, and though it’s not yet legally on sale in China, the reviews are already on its papers.

China’s Communist-run newspaper ‘The Global Times’ featured an article on Monday titled “American band releases album venomously attacking China,” calling the album an attempt of the West to “grasp and control the world using democracy as a pawn.”

Considering that the album took 17 years to complete, and coming up with two contradicting words ‘Chinese’ and ‘Democracy’ next to each other, it seems quite natural that Chinese see the album as a conspiracy and attack to their nation.

The notion of West vs. East still pretty much running through the veins of the world I guess.

pamelaandersonwithoutmakeupmalibupgwmbpcjawml Pamela Anderson With No Make-Up And A Test Result obama

Pamela Anderson hasn’t been working for as far as I can remember. To fill her free time, she decided to take some political action and actually write some recommendation for Obama. Like he always wanted her to do.
On her blog she writes a post “Recommended reading to Mr. President Elect Obama from Pamela Anderson,” asking Obama to read two books: The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein and Crimes Against Nature by Robert Kennedy. Then she goes on asking him to legalize Marijuana, promote vegetarianism, free Leonard Peltier, and other good stuff for her and her like-mindeds.
She writes:
“I think we should Legalize Marijuana, tax and monitor -farm Hemp etc-this would make our borders less corrupt and then I think eventually this will be more secure option and save children in the long run – we should be able to farm Hemp in America- it’s just silly— it would create jobs- and be good for environment.”

It’s really something.

Anyhow, here she is in Malibu with very nude face, casual dressing and apparently she just took a test and got a 79% score for it.
