Giorgio Armani To Launch A New Line Of Resort Hotels
Posted by: Roya In: Fashion| Karl Lagerfeld
One of the hardest-working fashion designers Giorgio Armani, 74, is to launch a new line of resort hotels. He is to design the first Armani Hotels & Resorts venture in Dubai which will feature 160 guest rooms and suites, as well as restaurants and a spa.
As a part of his new plan, he recently offered an eight figure bid to buy the London’s five star hotel The Berkeley, but the The Berkeley’s boss Derek Quinlan refused to sell it to him. Reportedly “No one knows Armani has been looking at moving into hotels but he is set on owning one in London. He was prepared to part with a lot of cash for The Berkeley but Quinlan told him he would have to buy all three hotels, which would effectively mean the end of the former Savoy Group.”
I guess he is in competition with other fashion mogul Karl Legerfeld to expand his world domination to large property ownership.
