I watched Rosie O’Donnell’s NBC variety show on Wednesday on my PVR and I fast-forward almost 50 minutes of it. It wasn’t good. Not so funny. Nothing like a good variety show. Alanis Morissette song made it sad, Alec Baldwin’s appearance lasts for like seconds, Clay Aiken looked uglier than ever, Ne-Yo’s performance was just OK, and Liza Minnelli’s act was just awful, all shaky and awful. The Rosie’s tap dance with kids was hideous. Nope, not good at all.
The show received far less than desired audience and was watched by only about 5 million. Did people who watched it like it? No!
What Rosie said after the show? She wrote on her blog: “there will b no more. no ratings/bad reviews/yet still—a thrill 4 me.”
Hollywood Reporter wrote a review, saying: “There’s nothing like a good holiday variety show and this was nothing like one.”
So I guess Barbara Walters won. Her interview with Obama and his wife Michelle the same night on The View, watched by more than 10 million.
Rosie won’t return to Variety TV Show after all.
