Fox To Remake The Great Adventure Movie “Romancing the Stone”
Posted by: Roya In: Movie
The 1984 adventure movie “Romancing the Stone” was a beginning of exciting careers for such stars as Michael Douglas, Danny DeVito, and Kathleen Turner.
Now Fox studio is to remake the movie, tapping Daniel McDermott, who has thriller “Eagle Eye,” in his resume and currently working on Tom Cruise’s new adventure movie, “Adventurer’s Club,” and a remake of “Soylent Green,” to write the script.
Originally written by Diane Thomas, the movie tells the story of a novelist who travels abroad to find her missing sister and ends up meeting an American soldier of fortune.
The writer wrote the script while working as a waitress in Malibu. It was her only produced screenplay; she died in a car crash the year after the film’s release. [Via The HollywoodReporter]
This might be one of the early sexiest movies I’ve seen. I remember being obsessed with it when I first watched it at the age of 12.
