Dita Von Teese is featured in the Winter 2008/2009 issue of Citizen K magazine. The magazine is all about high fashion so it’s surprising that she only posed as her burlesque self in one of the photo shoot, and for the rest she is just being classically provocative.Here are some of the highlights of her interview with the magazine:
On being a stripper:
When I was young, I was given advice for becoming rich and famous. I did neither. There are many women who want to be actresses or models, but nobody wants to be a great stripper. What I wanted was not to be like everyone else, so I said I want to be a stripper.
On her collection of lingerie:
I’m a crazy girl with an obsession for lingerie. It is not a question of seduction, but of femininity, which is very different. Through fashion, you can be a flirt.

The Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese is purely known for her burlesque routines and appearance which she maintained for years now. She is her image and without it, she would be just the girl next door. So, it’s understandable if she sees people who used her iconic image for their own profit and without her permission her demons.
For the Patti O’Shea’s ‘In Twilight’s Shadow’ book, Macmillan Publishers Ltd. used a photo of Von Teese on the cover.
On Friday, she has filed a federal lawsuit against the company, seeking unspecified damages against it. The papers claim that Dita’s face is “a valuable and integral portion of her celebrity persona” and that the company “commercially exploited her image and likeness to their own gain.”
She is also suing the photo agency that provided the image.
Dita Von Teese become worldwide famous after marrying and then divorcing Marilyn Manson. She then appeared in wide range of fashion magazines such as Vanity Fair and Elle. Vogue has featured an article about her titling “The Bride Wore Purple.”

Singer Katy Perry and star Dita Von Teese, were spotted sitting on front row seat, alongside another fashion week regulars, actress Emma Watson and Lily Allen, at the Dior spring/summer ‘09 in Paris Fashion Week. They both had white on, with Katy wearing a sweet prom dress and Dita in a neat skirt suit, and silver heels.
OK! magazine also reported that the 36-year-old, Dita Von Teese wants to give Amy Winehouse a makeover:
“No matter how much she breaks down, she still has the beehive of sorts and the outfits and eyeliner. When I see pictures of her I wish I could tidy her up a bit,” Dita told UK’s OK!
