David Duchovny Dropped The Defamation Lawsuit Against Tabloid
Posted by: Roya In: David Duchovny
Almost a month ago, the U.K.’s Daily Mail cooked up a story about David Duchovny which said he had an affair with his tennis instructor and that might be a reason behind his separation with his wife. Duchovny immediately filed a lawsuit against the paper over the bogus story.
This Monday the Daily Mail printed an apologetic retraction stating:
“We now accept this is inaccurate and Ms. Pakay and Mr. Duchovny are only friends who used to play tennis occasionally. Their relationship went no further and was not a factor in Mr. and Mrs. Duchovny’s separation. We apologize to Ms. Pakay, Mr. Duchovny and to Mr. Duchovny’s family.”
Today, Duchovny who formely called the Mail’s behavior “intentional and reckless,” dropped the $1 million defamation lawsuit.
That tabloid must have made thousands of pounds of that false feature, and now they just go on and say ‘we are sorry, we didn’t mean it, blah blah blah.’
David on the other hand, he must have a very different blood.
