The rising star, Dalota Fanning was honored with stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame on a rare double-star ceremony, held outside the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
She plays Lily in on screen movie ” The Secret Life of Bees” , a lonely budding writer whose life is defined by two realities.
After years of being one of the young darlings of the entertainment biz, a few cracks have begun to appear in the facade of Dakota Fanning’s image.
The latest zinger comes from Australian director Rowan Woods, who helmed the 14-year-old star in ”Winged Creatures,” set for release early next year.
Woods said he loved working with everyone on the movie except Fanning, whom he called a diva. ”Everyone was on their best behavior on this film. … Dakota was the only one who was naughty,” said Woods, who also claimed the young actress was ”intensely jealous” of her co-star Josh Hutcherson and did not deliver a performance Woods felt equaled her talents. There was something about her presence that wasn’t ringing true,” Woods said. ”Most of our work was cutting her scenes and a lot of her scenes were cut [from the film].”
As an example of Fanning’s ”diva” behavior as the director said: she refused to come out of her trailer on the first day of filming because her scene wasn’t being shot first.
”Winged Creatures” is about a random shooting in a Los Angeles diner and how that incident effects the lives of witnesses to the crime. There’s just something very tough there. She’s a tremendous talent, but has become a very demanding young woman. Yet in this town we see stars getting away with that every day.”
This was not the first time Fanning has faced controversy or criticism. Fanning’s rape scene in the film ”Hounddog” outraged many of her fans when it was initially released on the film festival circuit last year.
I knew she became an awesome actress when I first saw her in an episode of “Friends,” as an eight year old teenage. And her shoes are just sexy!
