United World Charts called her the biggest-selling female rock artist in music.
But in her personal life she wasn’t as lucky. In fact she went through things that are rare, disgusting and dangerously humiliating. She suffered from abuse as a teenager being the victim of statutory rape, the pain of which later feeds her songs. She suffered from anorexia and bulimia, they wouldn’t let a fat singer to be successful in her career down in show business .
She also did some crazy stuff, the lesbian thing, dating someone 15 years her senior while she was only 14, and drug abuse.
Her recent album ‘Flavors of Entanglement’ is also emotionally loaded with her painful stories.
Canadian-American singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette wrote a tell-it-all book.
