I started to read Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s “Influences,” which released last month and I’m totally digging it.

It’s a 272-page book with 23 interviews of them with some of the most influential people in their lives from fashion and interior designers to models and photogs. It also includes the photos they took themselves. It’s a quite a powerful book in sense of fashion, politics and psychology dialogue.
In the introduction of the book Ashely says:
“With each project I begin, I’m reminded of the importance of listening, of appreciating and taking advantage of all the creative, dynamic, and wonderfully bizarre people in my life. And like any good listener, I know it’s my duty to share this wealth of influence with others.”

These two are like the modern version of Bronte Sisters to me. Not because they are specifically good in their literature but because they are not followers of mainstream and considering their age (22), they are very capable. They have done designing, acting, TV, and now they are authors, and who knows what’s next. Bravo!

Here is Ashley Olsen at some fashion event in NYC last night. The twins helped MANGO celebrate the relaunch of their Soho flagship store alongside Penelope Cruz’s sister and MANGO designer Monica Cruz. Mary-Kate is apparently in Dubai for some business and partying.
